Questions, answered
Is it legal to sell a spare ticket in the UK?
Yes, for most gigs, theatre and comedy, as long as you give the buyer the information the law requires and follow the event's terms. Reselling football match tickets without authorisation is an offence.
What is the safest way to sell a spare ticket?
Use a marketplace that takes the buyer's payment before you transfer anything and offers protection to both sides, then use the ticket provider's own transfer feature. Avoid bank transfers from strangers.
Does it cost anything to sell on SpareSpot?
No. Listing is free and there's no seller fee. Buyers pay a booking fee, which is included in the all-in price they see.
Can I sell my ticket for more than I paid?
Not as a fan on SpareSpot. Fan listings are capped at what you paid, with no mark-ups.
When do I get paid?
Paid out 48–72 hours after the event. Your payment is processed securely via Stripe.
What if the buyer says the ticket didn't arrive?
They can raise an issue within their dispute window. The payout for that booking is frozen while SpareSpot reviews the message history and evidence from both sides.
