How resale payouts work

Short answer: paid out 48–72 hours after the event. Your payment is processed securely via Stripe. Sales under £100 are paid out 48 hours after the event, and sales of £100 or more after 72 hours. Then you withdraw to your bank whenever you like.

The two clocks

There are two separate steps, and people often mix them up:

  1. Payout to your SpareSpot wallet. This happens 48 hours after the event for sales under £100, or 72 hours for sales of £100 or more. If a listing has no event date, payout happens 30 days after booking.
  2. Withdrawal to your bank. You choose when to withdraw. Stripe payouts usually arrive within 2 business days, and manual bank transfers take up to 3 working days.
Sale value Paid out to your wallet Then to your bank
Under £100 48 hours after the event Usually within 2 business days (Stripe), or up to 3 working days (manual transfer)
£100 or more 72 hours after the event Same as above
No event date on the listing 30 days after booking Same as above

Why payout comes after the event

The buyer's dispute window closes at or before the moment you're paid, never after. That gives a buyer time to raise a problem if a ticket didn't arrive or wasn't as described. It's also why legitimate sellers on SpareSpot don't get disputes dragged out for weeks after they've been paid.

What the buyer pays, and what you receive

  • The buyer sees one all-in price that includes the 12% booking fee.
  • You receive 100% of the price you listed. There's no seller fee.
  • Example: if you list a ticket at £30, the buyer sees about £33.60 all-in, and you receive £30.

What can pause a payout

  • An open dispute. If a buyer raises an issue in their window, the payout for that booking is frozen until it's resolved. If the issue is upheld, the buyer is refunded. If not, the frozen funds are released to you.
  • Event cancelled or postponed. SpareSpot may mark the listing as cancelled, and confirmed bookings are refunded in full automatically.
  • Payout details missing. Add your payout method in your account before the event so nothing waits on you.

Tips for getting paid smoothly

  • Transfer the ticket promptly and mark it as sent.
  • Keep all messages in the app. They're your evidence if there's a dispute.
  • Make sure the event date on your listing is correct, because it sets the payout clock.

FAQ

When do I get paid for a ticket I sold? Paid out 48–72 hours after the event. Your payment is processed securely via Stripe. That's 48 hours for sales under £100 and 72 hours for £100 or more.

How long does a withdrawal take to reach my bank? Stripe payouts usually arrive within 2 business days. Manual bank transfers take up to 3 working days.

Does the buyer confirming receipt release my money early? No. Confirming receipt closes the buyer's dispute window, but payouts still follow the 48 or 72 hour timing.

What happens if there's no event date? Listings with no event date pay out 30 days after booking.

Do I pay a fee as a seller? No. Buyers pay the booking fee, and you receive the full price you listed.

What if the event is cancelled? Confirmed bookings are refunded to the buyer in full automatically, so there's no payout for that sale.
